Material Handler - Wisconic

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for maintaining ISO requirements spelled out in our management system
Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, and containers, by hand or using forklifts and other equipment
Make sure presses do not run out of materials and assign correct resins to presses
Perform safety check sheet on forklift
Must make sure all gaylords, grinders and materials are labeled correctly
Assist team in giving breaks to operators as needed
Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets
Enter transactions into IQMS (computer)
Responsible to keep assigned work areas clean & help with grinding
Attend training and/or meetings as required
Communicate any machine issues, such as improper functioning and blockages, to the appropriate personnel when necessary
Have a safety-conscious attitude in order to help prevent possible incidents from occurring that could harm not only yourself, but other plant personnel as well
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and procedures
Must be willing to perform any and all duties required by the supervisor
Attach identifying tags to containers, or mark them with identifying information
All other duties as assigned

Must be very organized and have high attention to detail
Must have the ability to problem solve
Must have knowledge of and the ability to learn all material handling equipment including: color feeders, blenders, tapers, forklifts, load system, surge bins and hoppers
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Accurately record and enter data
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision

Physical Demands:

Stand, walk, get on and off forklift frequently for 10 hour shift
Must be able to lift a maximum of 75 pounds from floor to chest occasionally
Must be able to push or pull 200 pound barrels on dollies
Must be able to push or pull 1,000 pound Gaylord’s with pallet jacks occasionally
Repetitive motion of hands and arms, good hand – eye coordination
Must be able to stand, bend, and kneel frequently
Must be able to climb heights as required
Must be able to work around fumes, heat, and large machines
