Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with overall workflow on the floor.
  • Enforce safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Identify, implement, and manage improvement projects
  • Observe work and monitor indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards
  • Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers
  • Manage resources to produce quality products at or below cost to meet customer requirements
  • Manage the training of new employees

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be able to lift a maximum of 75 pounds from floor to chest occasionally
  • Must be able to push or pull 200-pound barrels on dollies frequently
  • Must be able to push or pull 1,000 pound Gaylord’s with pallet jacks frequently

  • Must be able to stand, bend, and kneel frequently
  • Must be able to climb heights as required
  • Must be able to work around fumes, heat, and large machines
  • Able to visually match parts and discern colors for assembly of production with color-coded part numbers
  • Quality-oriented with high attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able to manage time
  • Use logic and reason to recognize and resolve potential problems
  • Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills
  • Must be able to lead and motivate the team to achieve results

Education & Experience

  • Minimum High school diploma or equivalent, degree preferred
  • Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience, minimum 3 years preferred
  • Proven success in understanding quality standards
  • Basic Math skills
  • Must have or be able to obtain a forklift license
